How we research and write
Africa.Forex explains brokers, markets and money in plain English for traders and savers in Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria. These are the rules behind every page.
Which sources we trust, in order
- 1Official registers and regulator noticesCMA, FSCA, SEC Nigeria and other regulators. Licence results and Scam Watch come only from here.
- 2Official bodiesCentral banks, stock exchanges, tax authorities, statistics offices and governments, for rates, limits, hours and economic data.
- 3The company's own documentsA broker's or fund's local website, legal documents, fee schedules and fact sheets, for products, fees and payment methods.
- 4Established publishersNews agencies and named financial publications, for news and context.
- 5Review sites and forumsOnly as a lead to check. If a fact rests on one such source, we say so on the page.
When sources disagree, the higher one on this list wins, and the page says what the other source claims.
Independence
- Brokers, funds and payment companies cannot pay for a place in a list, a better review or a licence result.
- Companies do not see or approve a review before it is published. They can send us factual corrections, which we check against the source like any other report.
- We earn commissions from some links. How that works is set out in our affiliate disclosure, and it never changes what we write.
- If an author holds an account with a company they review, the review says so.
Accuracy and dates
- Every important fact links to its source, usually at the end of the page or next to the fact.
- "Checked" is the date we last confirmed a fact against its source. "Updated" is the date the page content last changed.
- We do not change a date unless the content or the check really changed.
- Figures that move often, such as fees, yields and limits, carry their own date. Check the provider's latest terms before you act.
No signals, no personal advice
- We explain how markets, products and brokers work. We do not tell readers what to buy or sell, and we do not sell trading signals or account management.
- We never describe a return as guaranteed, and we do not promote products that promise one.
- Forex and CFDs are high risk, and most retail accounts lose money. Pages about trading link to our risk warning.
How we use AI
- We use AI tools to help gather news, summarise sources and draft some pages, including the daily market brief.
- Every figure in AI-assisted content must come from a linked source. We do not use AI to invent quotes, reader reports, reviews or people.
- AI-assisted pages follow the same corrections process as everything else.
Sponsored content and partner links
- Partner links are marked "Visit broker" or "Partner link" on the page and carry rel="sponsored" in the page code.
- Any sponsored lesson, webinar or article will be labelled "Sponsored" at the top, and it will never affect a licence result or a list.
- We do not run banner ads or pop-ups, and we do not accept advertising from companies without a licence in the reader's country.
Naming companies and people
- Scam Watch names companies, platforms, websites and groups from official regulator warnings. We do not name private individuals.
- Reader withdrawal reports are labelled as reader reports. They hold only the country, the payment method and the time taken, never a name.
Mistakes and corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it, change the page date and list significant fixes on our corrections page. You can report a mistake through the contact form or at contact@africa.forex.
